Joel Rochester (he/they) is equal parts speculative fiction writer, dark academian, and chaotic content creator of @fictionalfates.

His content fluctuates between giving in-depth analyses of texts to exploring new genres and series that he’s never read before. Throughout their reading journey, Joel has become driven towards seeing more representation within literature and recommending books by authors of colour.

From being a part of the book community for several years, they have engaged and inspired many to think about their reading choices, to discover new books they previously have not engaged with before. His upbeat attitude, passion and positivity encourages his mainly gen-z audience to pick up something to read, to practice self-care, and to find media that they can see themselves in.
